{"id":272,"date":"2020-08-15T15:21:53","date_gmt":"2020-08-15T15:21:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vicpickup.com\/?p=272"},"modified":"2020-08-15T16:26:57","modified_gmt":"2020-08-15T16:26:57","slug":"something-exciting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vicpickup.com\/?p=272","title":{"rendered":"something exciting&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I have a grand (and very prickly) announcement to make, in that my debut pamphlet will be published by the wonderful <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hedgehogpress.co.uk\/\">Hedgehog Poetry Press<\/a> later this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An amusing tale, the poems featured in this mini collection didn\u2019t \u2018fit\u2019 into the main pamphlet I\u2019ve been working on for a while, but when I put all the offcuts together, they told their own story. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As luck would have it, Mark Davidson (Hedgehog\u2019s Editor) was publicising a competition for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hedgehogpress.co.uk\/2020\/08\/11\/a-bakers-dozen-13-poems-and-a-time-to-think-results\/\">a short collection based around the idea of \u2018a time to think\u2019<\/a>. Ironically, I didn\u2019t really think there was much chance of attracting any attention, but a phrase keeps bouncing around my head of late \u2013 \u2018in it to win it\u2019&#8230; and so off I sent my little series of poems, expecting them to arrive back very soon with tales of their adventures, who they\u2019d met and so on. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But \u2013 unbelievably so \u2013 it would seem they have found themselves a home! Yes, \u2018Lost &amp; Found\u2019 will be made into a proper book, with an ISBN and everything(!) due to hit the doormats of those interested in October\/November \u2013 which makes me feel extremely happy indeed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Affirmation in a time of doubt, realisation that the dream\ncould actually be a reality, the prospect that somebody somewhere might want to\nown some of my poems \u2013 all this equates to a big slice of YESSS which I will\nforever cherish. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks goes to Mark, for such a wonderful opportunity.
